THE TIBETAN HOMES FOUNDATION, MUSSOORIE

The Tibetan Homes foundation is also an institution of similar nature-mainly to look after and care for the orphans, semi orphans, and ch9ildren of socially destitute. The institution was established in 1962 and over the years through generous assistance of Government of India and voluntary agencies- specially the S.O.S. International, it now looks after about 200 children accommodated in 27 'homes ',11 newly constructed homes of S.O.S Tibetan Children 's Village , fully financed by S.O.S. Denmark. Besides the homes this institution runs a middle school in Mussoorie and a primary school in Rajpur, Dehradun. They also have other programs such as sponsorship a scheme for children (those that cannot be taken into the homes) to attend Residential schools, adult activities and old people's scheme- running 2 homes one in Mussoorie and the other in Rajpur, Dehradun, for the old and infirm and also giving stipends to such persons who cannot be taken in these homes due to lack of vacancy.
