KULLU VALLEY SCHOOLS

Two small day schools at Kullu and Pandoh, with 20 to 27 pupils respectively, have been founded for the children in the valley. Each school receives a grant from the Tibetan Children's Village in Dharamsala to cover teacher's salaries, room rent, books and at Pandoh school a mid day meal for the students. The little school at Manila, started by the parents themselves, has been managed by the council since 1978. Assistance to these schools initially for a short period came from the Tibetan Development Foundation, Holland, but now except for the salary of one teacher from the Central Tibetan Schools Administration, the Council for the Tibetan Education bears all the other expenses.
