Namgyal Middle Boarding School was established by the Department
of Education, Dharamsala, in 1981 with only 20 children in
realization of the ideal objective of His Holiness the Dalai
Lama to provide modern scientific education to the Tibetan
children in Nepal while preserving and promoting the Tibetan
language, religion and culture.
Today it has 520 students including 280 residential and 240
day-pupils. A dedicated team of 26 teaching and 22 non-teaching
staff serve this institution. It has classes from Lower Kindergarten
to grad VII in 18 different sections.
The annual academic result of the school has been improving
every year by dint of hard work of our teachers and the students.
The school organise a wide variety of extra curricular activities
such as poem contest, essay writing competition, cultural
show competition and games & sports etc. within the four
school houses to achieve all round development of the child's
personalities.
